A coquetry mood at Parma’s 35th Mercanteinfiera

(Parma, 25 September 2016) – An 1880 gown, complete with tournure, which belonged to Romanov lady-in-waiting Princess Obolenskaya, and a silver Art Nouveau parasol with Valenciennes lace, which belonged to Princess Margherita of Savoy.
And that is not all: an antique tortoiseshell dance card, lacework, antique perfume bottles, purses engraved with romantic friezes, bouquet holders and other elegant objects from a distant “everyday” when every aspect of noble women’s lives required elegance and style.

It is fair to say that coquette is the order of the day at this year’s Mercanteinfiera, the 35th international fair, returning to Fiere di Parma from 1-9 October. DOWNLOAD
