At Mercanteinfiera, Italian beauty conquers international buyers and new generations, the show closes with 55.000 attendance

The show that will return on October 11-19 has closed.

(Parma, 17 March 2025) – 55.000 attendance and six thousand international buyers crowded the Spring edition of Mercanteinfiera, which confirms itself as a reference event, nationally and internationally, in the world of collecting. Great public success also for Automotoretrò, accompanied by a rich and participatory program of talks, which saw the presence of guests such as Paolo Barilla and Tonino Lamborghini.

The 40 thousand square meters of the fair offered the public and professionals a wide range of high-quality proposals, ranging from art, to modern antiques and vintage.

A journey into great beauty, among precious treasures of the past such as a very rare Persian bracelet from the 11th century, art deco furniture, paintings by great artists such as Giorgio de Chirico and design objects signed by Gaetano Pesce, Tobia Scarpa and Ico Parisi. An experience enriched by the collateral exhibitions The King: 90 years since the myth of Elvis , Pinocchio: an illustrated journey and Opens and closes: The key through the centuries , accompanied by a lively program of talks.

Mercanteinfiera confirms itself as an encyclopedia of curiosities and rarities: from the HF 100 jukebox of Fonzie, the iconic character of Happy Days, to the jewelry box that the president of Paramount Adolf Zukor gave to Marlene Dietrich, up to the embossed silver bowl donated by Edward Albert, Prince of Wales, to his dentist at Sandringham.

International buyers reiterated their great interest in Italian modern antiques and design, investing not only in established authors but also in emerging or lesser-known names. Naturally, appreciation for Italian antiques and painting remains high. Among the trends worth noting, the passion of North American and Gulf country buyers for Murano glass chandeliers, confirming how Mercanteinfiera is increasingly the home of the great artisan tradition of Made in Italy.

The great beauty of our country, which is expressed through art, design, fashion and modern antiques, continues to conquer the hearts of international buyers, who find at Mercanteinfiera, edition after edition, a proposal that grows in both variety and quality,” says Brand Manager Ilaria Dazzi.

The interest of the younger public in the fair is also increasing, demonstrated by the large presence of content creators and influencers, who represent an increasingly relevant narrative channel for Mercanteinfiera. “We want to continue to expand the presence of young people by working on projects and initiatives starting from the next autumn edition, so that they can feel that Mercanteinfiera is their home,” concludes Dazzi.
